Trapeze to attend worlds largest transport technology conference

Trapeze presents pioneering solutions and systems for efficient urban public transport at InnoTrans

Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Switzerland, 18 July 2024

InnoTrans is the largest international trade fair for transport technology, and a fixed date in the Trapeze diary. In 2024, Trapeze will once again be present at the event in Berlin, showing innovative technologies for the future together with proven products from Trapeze’s portfolio at booth no. 435 in hall 2.1.

InnoTrans is being held from 24 to 27 September at Berlin Exhibition Grounds. Trapeze will be sharing booth no. 435 in hall 2.1 with its parent organisation Modaxo and two other Modaxo companies Systemtechnik and ExPretio.

InnoTrans visitors at the Trapeze booth can expect a wide range of information about various different topics. Trapeze will be presenting operations control systems, state-of-the-art on-board computers, possibilities for passenger information, Business Intelligence applications, and solutions for claims processing, planning, dispatch, electromobility and accessibility.

In addition to product presentations and meeting areas, visitors can expect to find a whole lot more at the booth, including Trapeze’s traditional – highly popular – booth party, and two “Transit Unplugged Live CEO Roundtable” sessions, hosted by Modaxo.

Effective traffic management: operations control system LIO

Trapeze’s LIO system offers transport service providers all they need for effective traffic management. The operations control system gives the control centre a precise overview of what’s currently happening on all routes, based on reliable data and voice connections, intelligent control systems and efficient optimisation possibilities. The latest generation of Trapeze’s operations control system LIO provides comprehensive functionalities and diverse configuration possibilities.

The Trapeze operations control system LIO is being continuously developed and expanded with new functions, for example in the area of voice and data communication. With the latest generation of LIO, transport companies benefit from an enormous range of functions and are well prepared for the future. We look forward to presenting to visitors the latest features such as Path Dispatch Advanced, handling journey cancellations, bottleneck monitoring and many more.

Interface between control centre and vehicle: state-of-the-art on-board systems

Trapeze’s latest on-board computers with their comprehensive functionalities allow for optimum integration of buses and trams in a control system. Various device versions are available to best meet the needs of all regions of the world, for example a rack version and a box version.

Trapeze’s on-board computers secure important data flows, save central operational data and permit reliable communication between the control centre and the driving personnel. Drivers operate the Trapeze on-board computers with modern IPT terminals by Trapeze, equipped with a touchscreen and four shortcut keys.

The WebVLU is a low-cost, lean alternative for on-board computers, and makes it possible to use smartphones or tablets for the essential monitoring and dispatching functions.

Trapeze is also proud to present the MFD G3i in Berlin as the latest generation of the both proven and pioneering Multifunctional Display for passenger information in buses and trams.

Business Intelligence: multi-dimensional data analyses

Optimise operational processes in order to maximise efficiency through intelligent analysis of data from the AVLC system. Trapeze’s Business Intelligence solution offers users easily handled standard reports with automatic report compilation, while also including a functionality to produce reports individually for specific operational assessments. Recorded data can also be exported to third-party systems using the integrated interfaces. By using AI, patterns and trends in the data can be recognised even more precisely and used to make well-founded decisions.

For electric vehicles: LIO-Volta

More and more transport companies are focussing on sustainable mobility with the introduction of electrically powered vehicles. With LIO-Volta, electric vehicles can be optimally integrated into an existing LIO control system. LIO-Volta provides the control centre dispatchers with real-time data from the vehicles. An automatic alarm function ensures they are informed in good time when problems are looming, such as low charge levels or high battery temperatures.

Getting around with the mobility assistant: INTROS

Partially sighted and blind passengers and people with impaired mobility don’t always find it easy to use urban public transport on their own. The mobility assistant system INTROS (Independent Travelling Orientation System) offers valuable support. The solution was developed by Trapeze and Systemtechnik together with SBV, the Swiss Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired – a development by affected people for affected people that precisely addresses the needs of the target group.

An app informs passengers when the vehicle they want to take is arriving. It helps them find the way in and communicate with the driver. The app provides information about the next stops; passengers can also indicate their stop request and contact the driver simply by pressing a button.

Proven Bus Franchising Solution: Claims Processing System (CPS)

Trapeze’s Claims Processing System (CPS) underpins franchised bus operations in Singapore, London and Riyadh, where it is relied upon to manage more than 3bn of bus operator payments each year.

The only established solution of its kind, Trapeze’s CPS enables PTAs to manage franchised bus networks by streamlining the management and resolution of claims. By automating and simplifying the claims process, the system ensures accuracy, reduces administrative burden, and speeds up reimbursements.

Now being implemented nationwide in Ireland, Trapeze’s CPS enables bus operators to focus on service quality and operational improvements, thereby increasing customer satisfaction and improving ridership.

Efficient workflows: planning and operation management system

Planning and dispatch solutions by Trapeze make transport companies more profitable with better results. Trapeze’s planning system allows for optimised trip, vehicle and duty planning for buses and trains, efficiently safeguarding sound, reliable operation.

Planning on a new level: Resource Optimiser

Automation is one of the key aspects of planning. Trapeze’s in-depth integrated Resource Optimiser combines the central elements of planning and dispatch, letting customers solve their daily planning and dispatch tasks on a completely new level. New solutions are needed to deal with the skills shortage, shrinking predictability and new demands in terms of responsiveness in daily processes. All this is taken into consideration by the Resource Optimiser, enhancing workflow efficiency and flexibility, while making shift planning far more attractive for the workforce once more.
